ABOUT GARY MASON
Gary Mason is a professional voiceover actor with a rugged voice and a kind heart. His sound is best described as rough, husky and smoky, but not lacking in any smoothness or accessibility. From a motorcycle riding criminal to the guy next door who helps shovel your driveway, and even to a three-piece suit adorned gangster, Gary’s voice runs the gamut on characters.
His background matches his sound. Gary is a veteran with over 40 years of service in the US Navy. He brings his military discipline and determination to everything he does, including his voiceover projects. Gary started acting back in high school, but put it off to pursue his career in the armed forces. Now retired, he is back and more passionate than ever.
As a member of the Navy, Gary had the opportunity to travel all over the world, from Europe and Asia, all the way to Australia. He even lived abroad in Naples, Italy for five years. Travelling is still something he’s passionate about, and has given him an open mind and more depth in his vocal performances. When he’s not working or travelling, you’ll probably find him on the road in his Renegade Trike or in the backyard jamming to classic rock (he’s a sucker for a good guitar solo) while smoking a brisket to share with friends.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Gary currently lives and works in Springfield, Virginia. He produces from his professional-grade home studio equipped with Diamond Series VocalBooth, a Sennheiser MK4 mic and Apollo Twin MKII interface, as well as a 2020 iMac Pro running Studio One Artist (5.0) and IZotope RX8. Whether you need an outlaw or an angel, let Gary Mason give your brand the soft heart and rough edges it needs.

An Endearing Personal Biography The narrator, Gary A. Mason did a truly moving job telling this story. He really portrayed the author’s feelings I think. His voice resonated well in this memoir.
Gary is a natural talent, with impressive range who takes direction easily and nails it on the first or second take.
Gary has been an absolute delight to work with. He’s got great work ethic, a great voice, and his sound clips have wonderful sound quality. And best of all, whenever I listen to his voice when I’m editing my animated scenes, I burst out laughing. (This is very good, since it’s a comedy.) I’m really looking forward to working with him in more of my animation projects in the future. He’s a great voice actor!
Gary is super professional, fast and it’s been a pleasure working with him! Hope to work together again soon.
Gary is a pleasure to have on set. He takes direction well and is also willing to lend a hand as well as lend his knowledge to help a crew make the best of a situation when filming on a limited budget. I would certainly hire Gary again and look forward to having him with me on set.
One of my best decisions in “Words That Made the Difference: Brown v Board of Education” was casting Gary Mason in the role of Judge Huxman. Off camera, Gary was patient, professional and supportive of the actors and the production. On camera (take after take after take), Gary exemplified the epitome of a caring, concerned judge dealing with a challenging situation. He was spot on with his gestures, intonation and feeling – everything that I imagined in the character.
Best voice I have heard for a long time. Personal and with just the right character, not overselling. Minimalist with the right feeling.
